Explore the  different emotions you are feeling. Sometimes it is helpful to include in your journal a letter to the person who hara ssed you. Say all the things you wish you would have said, but didnt. It can be very healing to get all of that out of your system. Journaling also may help you make sense of what happened to you. And it is a safe place to say whatever is on your mind without trying to filter anything out.Stop blaming yourself. What happened to you was not your fault. You did not cause it and you could not control the other person. Remind yourself too  that you have nothing to be ashamed of and you should not feel guilty. Blaming yourself will slow your healing. Remember, you have complete control over your response and where you go from here. Focus on that fact and let it empower you.Bring closure to your experience. An important part of the healing process is putting the past behind you and detaching from the trauma you e xperienced. Sometimes this means changing jobs or careers. It also could mean discovering who you really are. Too many times, a persons identity is tied to her work. Instead, rediscover what makes you  you. Start a new hobby and develop new interests. And most importantly, do not dwell on what happened to you. Find a healthy way to put the past behind you and try to  remain positive  about things in your life.Use the experience to help others. Sometimes, you can bring meaning to what happened to you by integrating your  experience into your life in some way. For instance, you could write a blog about what you have experienced and offer suggestions to readers. Or, you could lead a support group, build a website for harassment victims,  or speak to others. Another option is to volunteer with non-profit groups that address sexual harassment. The key is taking a negative experience and turning it into something positive. Doing so helps build your resiliency.Find a counselor. If you find it difficult to move on after your experience, you may benefit from seeing a counselor who specializes in dealing with workplace sexual harassment. Counselors that specialize in sexual assault or abuse may also be helpful. Additionally,  if you have been harassed at work or school, advocates advise  not using your school or employers mental health staff. Sometimes the lines of confidentiality get blurred and the counselor will share your information about you to others in the organization. In extreme cases, they may even try to protect the organization from liability. It is always best to find a counselor outside of where the sexual harassment occurred. Not only is it an added protection for your privacy, but you may find it easier to open up to someone that is not associated with the organization where the harassment occurred. Tips for Friends of Sexual Harassment Victims If you have a friend or family member who is dealing with the aftermath of sexual harassment, you may want to help, but just dont know where to start. Simply being there to listen and be supportive is often all that is required. You do not need to fix things for your friend, nor do you need to offer sage advice. Your most important role is to be patient with what she is going through and support her where you can. She needs to know that she is safe with you and that you believe her. You also could remind her that the harassment was not her fault.  Here is a list of additional tips for when you are interacting with your friend: Remember not to judge her. Try to understand her feelings and offer support. Be there for her when you can and encourage her to talk to others as well. Encourage her to stay connected. The worst thing your friend can do is become isolated or spend a lot of time alone. While it is common for any victim of harassment to withdraw from others, this is not helpful to her healing. Nudge her to stay connected to you and other people. Respect her boundaries, and give her space if she needs it. Remember, her boundaries were violated when she was sexually harassed so she will likely fight pretty hard to develop new ones. Allow her the freedom to do that. Do not smother her with attention or help. Allow her to heal at her own pace. Do not rush her or try to fix things for her. Everyone heals at different rates. Try to be patient if she is taking longer to get over her experience than you think she should. Support her decisions even if you do not agree with them. It is very important that your friend makes her own decisions. She needs the space and the control takes back her life on her terms. While it is fine to make suggestions, do not try to control her or tell her what to do. Rather, the various elements in culture—symbols, knowledge, norms, values and beliefs— are organized and patterned so that the various elements tend to fit each other and integrate to compose a unifying theme for social behavior. The comparative approach in social research employs a wide variety of sociological techniques. Among those which sociologists have frequently resorted to in the study of personality, society, and culture are cross-cultural and inter-societal comparisons. Spanish and Mexican are groups of people who have similarities and differences in their lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and many others (Graham, 2004). The Spanish people can be divided into five major groups, and based on cultural characteristics and geographic location. They are the Castilians of central Spain, the Catalans of the northeast, the Galicians of the northwest, the Andalusians of the south, and the Basques in the region of the Pyrenees. The main ancestors of the Spaniards were Iberians, the early inhabitants, and Celts, who came later and intermingled with them. The Visigoths and the Moors are among other ancestral groups (Crow, 2005). While the Mexicans, it was roughly estimated that 30 percent are mestizo (of mixed Indian and European descent); nearly all the rest are Caucasian. About 65 percent of the people live in urban areas. The southern part of the Central Plateau, which includes Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Puebla, is the most densely populated region (Rodman, 2001). In the 16th century, the religious mysticism of Spain was represented in the works of El Greco, a Greek painter who worked in Spain. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) was originally described in 1905 by Stein and Leventhal as a syndrome consisting of amenorrhea, hirsutism, and obesity in association with enlarged polycystic ovaries. It is now realized that this relatively common syndrome is an extremely heterogenous clinical syndrome that begins soon after menarche and some authors prefer to refer to it as a syndrome of hyperandrogenic chronic anovulation. In fact, earlier studies of PCOS have focused on ovarian morphological findings and were considered to be important diagnostic criteria. However, it was found that polycystic changes of the ovaries were observed in some normally cycling women. Furthermore, polycystic changes of the ovaries were shown to be associated with other well-defined diseases such as Cushing's syndrome, and an ovarian or adrenal tumor capable of producing androgen. B. The root of PCOS is an inability to respond properly to insulin, the hormone produced in the pancreas that allows your body's cells to absorb energy from the food you eat. This means your cells don't respond to the normal amount of insulin, so the pancreas pumps out even more. That's what insulin resistance is and it happens when the body turns carbohydrates, both simple and complex, into glucose that surges into the bloodstream. Insulin travels to the muscle cells, telling them to take glucose from the bloodstream and store it in the liver. As insulin levels in the blood increase, glucose levels in the blood decrease. When blood glucose falls below a certain level, the brain, which needs glucose to function, calls out for more by telling you to eat again. If it doesn't get glucose, the result is drowsiness or lack of mental alertness. This glucose shortage is also known as low blood sugar or hypoglycemia. World War II opened a new chapter in the lives of Depression-weary Americans. The United States of America had an unusual importance in the war, it had been spared the physical destruction that had taken place throughout the world. Americans on the home front did not see the fighting and brutality as other countries experienced it. However, the events and changes on the home front due to the World War transformed America. One of the greatest conversions was that of the American woman. Women around the country were transformed from the average house wife into a person with a voice and most importantly a purpose. For the first time women were working in the industries of America. As husbands and fathers, sons and brothers shipped out to fight in Europe and the Pacific, millions of women marched into factories, offices, and military bases to work in paying jobs and in roles reserved for men in peacetime. Women were making a living that was not comparable to anything they had seen before. They were dependent on themselves; for once they could support the household. Most of the work in industry was related to the war, such as radios for airplanes and shells for guns. Peggy Terry, a young woman who worked at a shell-loading plant in Kentucky, tells of the money that was to be made from industrial work (108). â€Å"We made a fabulous sum of thirty-two dollars a week. To us that was an absolute miracle. Before that, we made nothing (108)." Sarah Killingsworth worked in a defense plant. " All I wanted to do was get in the factory, because they were payin more than what I'd been makin. Whi ch was forty dollars a week, which was pretty good considering I'd been makin about twenty dollars a week. When I left Tennessee I was only makin two-fifty a week, so that was quite a jump (114)." Terry had never been able to provide for herself as she was able to during the war. " Now we'd have money to buy shoes and a dress and pay rent and get some food on the table. We were just happy to have work (108).† These women exemplify the turn around from the peacetime to wartime atmosphere on the home front. The depression had repressed them to poverty like living conditions. The war had enabled them to have what would be luxury as compared to life before. As women began to enter the male work force and achieve pride and an income, they became oblivious to the war... ...he was not on the home front, she was a WAC officer. Never before this time had women been given the chance to help defend this country as much as during WWII, non the less a black woman. It was a major break through. The help that Fraser provided towards the war cause enabled her to achieve the GI Bill. She used it in her full advantage (128). â€Å"I used part of the GI Bill to go to Northwestern and then full time to Roosevelt U. (128).† Never before this time had women across the country been given the chance to express themselves and hold responsibilities outside their own households. They felt that they were needed and enjoyed their ability to contribute to the war effort. They were given opportunities to prove to the male society that they could be independent and financially secure on their own. These new opportunities were not only for the white women of the population but also the blacks. World War Two acted as a catalyst for change for the women of the United States. Bruises Godly,the girl who capture Achilles Heart important: Achilles died in deed by Paris but a long time ago before we, Greeks entered Troy.It was disgusting and very insulting to the epic story to see Achilles dies inside the burning Troy with several arrows on his chest and belly as Achilles was invulnerable because his father Pleas baptized him in a blessed water when he was an infant but as he was holding him upside down he did not sink his feet holding him from his ankles. The story line is placed in the 1960s decade and centers on the lives of African American maids, working in the homes of American masters. Eugenia Skeeter Phelan is a white young American woman, recent university graduate, who returns to her hometown in Jackson, Mississippi, after finishing college. Her dream is to become a writer, and she finds an intriguing subject to write about the condition of the African American servants in the house of white American families. Her mothers dream nevertheless does not include literary ambitions, since she dreams of having Eugenia married as soon as possible, to a young man of good social condition.
